Charities we support
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo's charitable purposes are at the heart of everything we do. We're extremely proud to support a number of military charities. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and every year we donate substantial sums to charities.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
The Royal Navy and Royal Marines’ charity’s mission is to raise and deliver resources, working with others, to provide the best support to serving and former members of the naval service and their families.
ABF - The Soldiers' Charity
ABF - The Soldiers' Charity give a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need. The charity makes grants to individuals through their Regiments and Corps and support a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’, both at home and around the world.

Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund’s principal activities are to assist the RAF Family, when they are in need; to maintain and preserve the RAF Memorial in London on behalf of the nation; to support the morale and wellbeing of the serving RAF; and to be responsible for the Bomber Command Memorial in central London.

Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust
The Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust support young people across Scotland by helping schools establish and sustain pipe bands, ensuring the nation’s musical heritage thrives for future generations. Through free tuition, equipment, and funding, the Trust empowers communities and inspires pride, discipline, and teamwork in pupils.
Tattoo Traditional Arts Programme
Set up by The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2024, the Tattoo Traditional Arts Programme supports traditional artforms in Scotland – including dancing, piping, drumming and fiddle playing, through year-round workshops, masterclasses and performances, providing artists with a platform to develop and showcase skills.

Army Piping and Drumming Committee
The Army Piping and Drumming Committee oversees the preservation, development, and excellence of piping and drumming within the British Army, upholding centuries-old traditions. It provides training, support, and strategic guidance to ensure military musicians maintain the highest standards at ceremonial and operational events worldwide.
Army in Scotland Trust
The Army in Scotland Trust supports the welfare, heritage, and community engagement efforts of the British Army in Scotland. It funds projects that strengthen the bond between the Army, its personnel, veterans, and the wider Scottish public.
51 Brigade Welfare Fund
The 51 Brigade Welfare Fund provides financial support for the welfare and wellbeing of soldiers, veterans, and their families within 51st Infantry Brigade and Headquarters Scotland. It helps fund activities, equipment, and initiatives that enhance morale and quality of life across the military community.
Edinburgh Garrison Welfare Fund
The Edinburgh Garrison Welfare Fund supports the welfare needs of serving personnel, veterans, and their families within the Edinburgh Garrison. It provides funding for activities, events, and resources that promote wellbeing, community cohesion, and morale.

Scottish National War Memorial
The Scottish National War Memorial, located within Edinburgh Castle, honours the memory of Scots who died in the two World Wars and subsequent conflicts. It serves as a place of reflection and remembrance, housing an extensive Roll of Honour listing the names of the fallen.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is responsible for commemorating the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the two World Wars. It maintains their graves and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries and territories.

Edinburgh International Festival
Edinburgh International Festival celebrates Scotland’s rich cultural heritage, showcasing the finest in traditional music, song, and dance on an international stage through a series of events supported by the Tattoo.
