Job Purpose Summary

The Events Assistant reports to the Senior Events Manager in the preparation and delivery of the Concert series and the Tattoo. Leads on Event specific administrative support, coordinates with production, site and technical teams to ensure collaborative and coherent performance delivery of Tattoo and other content. The Events Assistant is responsible for Accreditation provision and supporting the delivery of Accreditation across staff, contractors and performer groups.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Event Team document preparation and administrative support.
  • Prepare licensing applications and co-ordinate processing.
  • Prepare roads and TTROs applications and co-ordinate processing.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of a parking management plan.
  • Plan and oversee barrier placement and management.
  • Prepare comms networks and management with commercial radio provider.
  • Accreditation contract management and support the accreditation system.
  • Prepare and arrange production of manuals and directives.
  • Arrange, check and monitor event management equipment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong value-set and innovative spirit.
  • Diplomatic skills and natural affinity for collaborative working.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and report writing.
  • Good time-management and commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Proficient user of MS office software.
  • Experience in large events planning and delivery.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A commitment to and understanding of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo’s beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in a logistics, procurement, or administrative organisation field.
  • Project management.
  • Experience of upholding good Health and Safety practice.
