Bringing Scotland's youth to the heart of the Tattoo

We have partnered with Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust (SSPDT) to offer several school trips to the Tattoo over the coming weeks.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting Scotland’s next generation of artists, we are delighted to welcome several school groups, from areas such as Falkirk and Renfrewshire, to experience the vibrant spectacle of the Tattoo.

These visits are made possible through our collaboration with the Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust (SSPDT), an organisation devoted to cultivating the musical talents of young people across Scotland. The SSPDT was built on the belief that pipe bands are more than just a musical pastime, they are instrumental in developing life skills, employability, perseverance, self-confidence, and a strong sense of camaraderie.

These students are deeply engaged in traditional arts, having achieved a diverse array of SQA qualifications and competed at the World Championships and other prestigious competitions.

Thanks to this partnership, we have provided tickets to students, offering them the unique opportunity to witness the Tattoo’s world-renowned pipers and drummers up close. By witnessing these performances, we hope to encourage them to continue honing their craft, showing them the incredible possibilities that dedication to traditional arts can offer.

At The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, supporting and celebrating traditional arts is at the core of our mission. Initiatives like this allow us to proudly contribute to Scotland’s cultural heritage, ensuring that Scottish artforms continue to flourish for years to come.
