Who are Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity? 

Based locally, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) supports the incredible work of Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, also known as The Sick Kids. Every year, every day, every hour, ECHC works tirelessly to provide seriously ill children and their families with the extra support they need when facing a life-changing hospital visit. They are speeding up recovery, taking away fear and providing reassurance, comfort and distraction every step of the way. 

Why should you vote for Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity? 

If you know Edinburgh, you know The Sick Kids Hospital. Maybe you’ve had to use it yourself, or you know someone who has. 

Whether you’re a child or a parent, being in hospital is scary, lonely and painful. But you can help. 

You can be there for the child who finds a vital procedure too upsetting and too sore – but playing a game with our team brings distraction. You can be there for the mum who can’t bear to leave her child’s bedside - but needs someone who understands. And you can be there for the family who find constant travel to hospital an impossible financial struggle. 

Despite the greatest challenges a child and their family can face, the hospital could be a place where being sick doesn’t always mean being sad. That could be because of you. 

Currently, ECHC can only reach 1 in 10 children who come through the hospital doors, meaning many hundreds of children each year miss out. The only thing preventing ECHC from helping every child is money. They simply don’t have enough.
