Tattoo Performers in America
This month, our Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Performers will travel to Washington D.C. for the 2025 Washington Tattoo, then on to New York to participate in Scotland’s Hoolie in New York at Carnegie Hall. Find out more about our USA plans below.

The Washington Tattoo
Tattoo Pipers, Drummers, Dancers, and Fiddle players will make their Washington D.C. debut, joining the cast for this year’s Washington Tattoo.
Taking place on Saturday 29 March, at Lisner Auditorium at the George Washington University Campus, the Washington Tattoo celebrates international music and dance, presented in the traditional style of military Tattoo’s around the world. We’re delighted to join this year’s line-up to present the best of Scotland’s traditional music and dance to US audiences.
We are honoured to partner with The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for this landmark performance. This event will highlight the cultural and musical bonds between our nations while celebrating the artistry and service of military musicians worldwide.
President and CEO of The Washington Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is delighted to be performing at the Washington Tattoo. As we have done with other Tattoos around the world, this collaboration offers a fresh and exciting opportunity to partner with a new Tattoo.
Every August in Edinburgh, Americans consistently make up the largest contingent of our international audience, so it feels only fitting to bring a small sample of what we do to the United States. We are deeply grateful to the Washington Tattoo for this incredible opportunity.

Scotland’s Hoolie in New York
Following our successful performance at Hoolie in the Hydro in Glasgow last December, we’re thrilled to join the Hoolie cast Stateside for Scotland’s Hoolie in New York. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the Hoolie will be staged at the iconic Carnegie Hall in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday 5 April. Our team will perform alongside talented Scottish musicians, Julie Fowlis, Dougie Maclean, Mànran, and the Oban High School Pipe Band.
We’re very excited to share a little taste of our Tattoo with audiences in New York.
