The Innis & Gunn Story
When Innis & Gunn joined the Tattoo as Presenting Partners in 2022, a great alliance was formed. Both Edinburgh locals, we hold innovation and creativity at the core of all we do and relish the opportunity to add our own twist on tradition. In our year of Stories, we wanted to share more about them and how they came to create such a unique award-winning beer.
The Innis & Gunn story began when founder and Master Brewer, Dougal Gunn Sharp, wanted to break free from the traditional methods of brewing, and create something authentic and genuinely different.
He set out on a journey of discovery, which led him to create a unique, deeply smooth, deeply delicious beer. An innovative beer that was oak matured in some of the best single-malt casks.
That beer became The Original – their flagship beer, and origin story, the curious approach on which their whole brewery was founded. They have been on that journey of experimenting, questioning and exploring ever since.
That thirst for the new has led them to create their crisp and refreshing Innis & Gunn Lager Beer – now Scotland’s No.1 craft lager. And limited edition, rare beers, such as their Islay Whisky Cask, double matured in Laphroaig single malt casks, fruity Mangoes on the Run IPA, and Caribbean Rum Cask Scottish red beer.
All exciting new chapters in the Innis & Gunn story that keeps old friends and new fans coming back for more.
With their return this year, we can again offer guests the chance to sit back in the summer evenings and enjoy Innis & Gunn’s award-winning beer at our Show.
Drinks on offer will include Innis & Gunn’s multi award-winning beers ‘The Original’, ‘Innis & Gunn Lager’ and ‘Innis & Gunn Mangoes On The Run IPA’, as well as Pickering’s Gin & Tonic, red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and soft drinks.
